Old Hulmeians Annual Dinner 2017 Announced

We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Annual Dinner will be held at:

Davyhulme Park Golf Club
Gleneagles Road
Davyhulme
Manchester M41 8SA

on Saturday 8th April, 2017.

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons it is not possible to hold the dinner at the School, so we have opted to hold the dinner in the splendid art deco clubhouse.

I am delighted that Lin Leadbetter has agreed to be or guest speaker.

Lin was a pupil at WHGS from 1983 to 1990.He subsequently studied Astrophysics at Durham University graduating in 1994, just! Following a period in the military he managed to sign for a professional rugby team in Australia where he played for 1 year before returning to the UK and literally wrestling himself into a job on the trading floor of the futures market. Awaking one day with a change of heart he has subsequently retrained as a doctor practicing as both a GP and A&E doctor in Greater Manchester.

In addition, the Principal of WHGS Peter Mulholland has agreed to speak.

we are hoping that a number of teaching staff (both past and present) will be in attendance at the dinner, so you have an opportunity to renew old acquaintances.

Please join us for a complimentary glass of cava and canapes from 6:30 pm

Time: Dinner is 7:00 pm for 7:30 pm

Bar: A cash bar will be available from 6:00 pm and a selection of wines will be available for purchase from the bar.

Dress Code: Lounge suites/smart.

WHGS Career Days – 1st & 2nd July 2013

On 1st & 2nd July 2013, WHGS held a two day Challenge of Management conference, working through a variety of business scenarios with the Lower Sixth.

The students were split into groups, and were assigned tasks throughout the two days. Each group required a group adviser, who helped guide the students throughout the two days.

We are constantly looking for OHA members to act as group advisers at these Career Days, and ask anyone who might be interested in future events to contact us at oha@oldhulmeians.org.
